Introducing: Seal & Protect

We’re excited to announce a new preventive service designed to protect areas of gum recession. Gum recession is a common issue caused by vigorous brushing, bite issues, or habitual teeth grinding.  The new service is called Seal & Protect. For this treatment, your hygienist applies a thin layer of material that acts like a clear sealant on the exposed root (think like clear nail polish). The application provides immediate relief from cold sensitivity while offering the added benefits of triclosan to reduce cavity-causing bacteria and fluoride to help with cavity prevention. Since the root is exposed, there is no enamel protection, making it easier to get a cavity.  Also, if you’re a hard brusher it forms a physical barrier between your toothbrush and your tooth.

The treatment is quick, non-invasive, and requires no needles or drilling, allowing you to immediately return to your daily activities (including eating and drinking) with no downtime. We do need to blow a bit of air, so if you have some cold sensitivity, it may be a bit sensitive for a few seconds. After the first application, the sensitivity is significantly reduced. Priced at $35 per tooth and lasting up to two years, Seal & Protect is a cost-effective way to maintain your dental health and can be conveniently included in your regular dental wellness visits.
