Delta

A letter from Dr. Martin:

I’m writing with an important update about my participation with Delta Dental. After careful consideration, I’ve decided that beginning January 1, 2027, I will no longer be an in-network provider with Delta Dental. This change is necessary for me to continue giving my patients the time, attention, materials, and quality of care that are important to me.

This was not a decision I made lightly. Delta’s contracted reimbursement rates for care have not meaningfully increased in many years, even as the cost of providing high-quality dental care has continued to rise. To illustrate this, Delta’s reimbursement rate for a routine cleaning has not changed since 2015. The inflation rate has been approximately 38% during that same period, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. We’ve repeatedly asked Delta to consider increasing the amount they reimburse me for care, but they have declined.

You will still be able to use your Delta Dental benefits when you see me and If you already have an appointment scheduled with me after January 1, it remains scheduled. Your plan will continue to help with the cost of your care through its out-of-network benefits. Exactly how those benefits work varies from one plan to another.

We can check your individual Delta benefits and prepare a personalized email with details about how your plan is expected to help with the cost of your routine care beginning in January.

We expect to receive a high volume of requests, so please allow our team 4 to 5 weeks to complete your benefits check. We’re starting now so everyone has plenty of time to understand their benefits before this change takes effect.

You may also receive a notice directly from Delta Dental about my change in network participation. Because every Delta plan is different, I encourage you to let us check your individual benefits so you have a clear picture of how your specific plan will work when you see me beginning in January.

For my current patients, I also want to help make this transition a little easier. For a limited time starting January 1st 2027, I’ll provide a 10% discount on your out-of-pocket responsibility for preventive care and treatment.

Nothing is changing today. I will remain an in-network Delta Dental provider through December 31st, 2026.

My team and I are here to help you understand exactly what this means for you.

Thank you for trusting me and CPW Dentistry with your care. I’m grateful to be part of your dental team and look forward to caring for you in the year ahead.
