Meet: Shameka, Financial Coordinator

Every month we feature behind-the-scenes interviews with the individuals who, together, make CPW Dentistry the special place that it is. This month, we’re featuring Shameka.

What’s your role here at CPW Dentistry and what does a typical day look like for you?

I am one of the Financial Coordinators here at CPW Dentistry. A typical day for me consists of submitting claims to insurance, following up on those claims, and helping people understand their insurance benefits and balances.

Why do you love working at CPW Dentistry?

I love working at CPW Dentistry because everyone here is so passionate about what they do. When you work alongside other hard working people, eight hours a day doesn’t seem that long.

You’ve been a patient here at CPW Dentistry, too. What has that experience been like?

I’ve gotten everything from cleanings, fillings and my wisdom teeth extracted at CPW. I trust the doctors and hygienists with my and my family’s oral care.

If you could speak to everyone in the world at the same time, what would you say?

Don’t be afraid to be who you are and try to surround yourself with positive people. The biggest thing I love about CPW is that everyone accepts me for my wild and crazy side. It’s really a judgment free zone.

What’s your go-to Karaoke song and why?

Walk the Moon – Shut up and Dance With Me. I love to sing, but I love dancing even more. This song gives me the chance to pull others on the dance floor with me.

What’s the best way to start the day?

I usually start my day walking my dog Scruffy. I get a chance to clear my head from the day before and prepare for the day ahead. After he’s taken me around the block a few times, I’m ready to get my day started.
