Meet: Miranda
Every month we feature behind-the-scenes interviews with the individuals who, together, make CPW Dentistry the special place that it is. This month, we’re featuring Miranda, a Registered Dental Hygienist.
What’s your role here at CPW Dentistry and what does a typical day look like for you?
I am a Registered Dental Hygienist and also spend time doing clinical outreach. I wear a few different hats and absolutely love it! My typical day usually includes a morning Zumba workout. Then I might have a brainstorming meeting to come up with fun new ideas to promote CPW, or spend some time reaching out to patients who are overdue for their dental wellness visits. It’s important to not miss these! I work the evenings twice a week so I end my days seeing patients and keeping their smiles healthy and bright.
Why do you love working at CPW Dentistry?
I love CPW for its philosophy. We’re a practice of mindful dentistry with a focus on customer service. It fully encompasses all of my personal values! I feel that I’m working in a supportive environment where I can provide my patients with the level of quality care that I want.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about a healthy work/life balance! Doing your job well is so important but having time to relax and enjoy life, too, will make you do your job even better. I have lots of hobbies that keep me happy and healthy. If I’m not cleaning teeth, I’m either on the TV screen acting, painting a new picture, petting my cat, or out roller blading. I think it makes me a better hygienist. I’m genuinely happy to do the work that I do, but thats because I’m balanced in my personal life as well.
What motivates you to come to work every day?
My co-workers! I absolutely love everyone I work with and look forward to seeing them every day. We’re a team and everyone helps each other out so we can work more efficiently. That creates a very pleasant work environment. We’re always either laughing, singing or dancing and know the patients enjoy it, too! We do our best to enjoy ourselves and each other. I think patients pick up on that kind of energy and it helps create a nice experience for them.
If you were an animal, which one would you be and why?
Definitely a Liger. It’s like a Lion and a Tiger mixed…bred for its skills in magic.
Were you named after anyone? Tell us the story.
My mom tells me she got my name from credits in a movie. When I asked her which movie or which actor…she just shrugged and said “I don’t remember” but now she takes all the credit for my acting success stating that my name Miranda which means “admirable” was a blessing. I will say I have to agree!
