I’m the Operations Leader as well as a Practice Director for CPW Dentistry, I am responsible for making sure everything runs smoothly and that we meet our team goals we set for ourselves. A typical day for me is about half meetings with our leaders and other practice directors, and half reports and action plans from all of those meetings! I spend a lot of time with our department leaders, helping their development, and collaborating with them if anything needs problem-solving. I also have an active role in helping to shape the future of CPW- always improving our patient experience and making the best environment for our team members to thrive in.
First and foremost, the team. Several of my closest friends are on our team. We have worked so hard on creating and maintaining our team culture, and it shows. Our team is very cohesive and caring. Secondly, I love the opportunities that CPW Dentistry and Dr. Lhota have provided for me and our other team members. Because we always work through the lens of taking care of our patients first, we are given a lot of autonomy to try new ideas and systems that you wouldn’t see in a traditional dental practice. It keeps team members engaged because we are always challenging ourselves.
I’m passionate about nutrition and health. I have my bachelor’s degree in nutrition and spend a lot of my free time reading and studying new research about the field. I have been following a plant-based diet for 7 years and try to be the best example of that lifestyle that I can be.
Anytime I can get outside to go on a hike or go camping, I’m blissfully happy. I’ve been very fortunate to be able to go on several cross-country road trips and to go camping all over the country with my friends. Spending uninterrupted time in nature reconnects me to what my values are and gives me a sense of wonder for the world around me.
Although I am a total night owl, I really love waking up way before I need to be anywhere so that I can start my day off slowly and peacefully. I usually make myself a coffee and relax while reading the latest news or updates on any blogs I follow. After that, I walk my dog, Jasper, and catch up on some podcasts before I head into work. I’ve been a fairly consistent meditator for the last few years and I find it completely sets the tone for my day, if I can take even 5 minutes out of my morning to meditate, I am more collected and focused throughout my day.
I grew up in a small town in the middle of Michigan. Besides the freezing cold weather, it was a nice area to grow up in, our community was pretty small and that gave a sense of safety when I was younger. The town felt smaller and smaller as we grew up, hence moving to a big city after college. I wouldn’t change anything about growing up there, but I’ve come to prefer big city living.
