What’s your role here at CPW Dentistry and what does a typical day look like for you?
I’ve been fortunate enough to land a role here as a full-time associate dentist. As a general dentist, a typical day can possess a large variation in procedures. Ranging from a patient’s primary component of treatment consisting of diagnosis and treatment planning, to doing fillings, crowns, and extractions, no day is ever the same. I love this component of my job and it’s one of the reasons I decided to stay a general dentist rather than specialize!
What do you like most about working here?
Since graduating, I have never worked in an office that felt so willing to provide assistance and support to benefit both the patient and doctor. I also love working with a team of professionals that consistently challenge and encourage me to do the best dentistry I am capable of doing, and continue learning to expand my skill-set as a provider.
How do you want people to feel when they come to see you at the office?
I would like for people to feel at ease knowing they are coming to an office that values them and is genuinely making an effort to provide the absolute best dental care. I really pride myself on ensuring that a patient’s oral health is restored to optimum health. Working within a team environment of excellent general dentists and specialists allows me to ensure patient’s needs are adequately addressed. I know that they’ll be in the right hands when something is outside of my skill-set and may be better completed by a specialist.
What’s one thing you’re learning now, and why is it important?
After graduating dental school, a large part of me thought that I was done with school….FOREVER! Little did I know, I have resigned to the fact that dentistry is constantly evolving. New technologies, dental materials, procedures, the list goes on…This very component of dentistry can be daunting to say the least, but it’s incredible to know that innovation requires a constant need for learning. This takes the monotony out of my job, and makes coming to work equally exciting.
What three words would your friends use to describe you?
Gregarious, Ambitious, Generous
Are you a dog person or a cat person?
I love all animals, but I am absolutely a dog person. The current love-of-my-life is my 1-year old miniature Shar-pei, Theodore Bear Sallerson.
What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day?
Albeit physically tasking, I love to unwind with exercise. It is absolutely one of the best stress releasors and helps me to dissolve the feelings left after a difficult day.
